I decided to title my update emails with date from now on, because it would be recorded in my blog and I want my blog to look journal-like.
There are 12 people on my e-newsletter list. I decided to welcome each one of you.
Andy is the deaf-blind man. I knew he enjoyed reading my emails, so I decided to include him on my e-newsletter list. I would like to learn to know him more. He and I are planning to hang out on September 27 to Renaissance Faire and October 4. We haven't really decided where we want to go on October 4. He want to get out, instead of sitting at home and get bored.
Andy is the other Andy on my list. He has been sending me Charismatic devotional emails, and I find them fascinating. I find it very helpful to dig in the ins and outs of Christian religion. Instead of focusing on negative or bad things happening to some Christians, every Christian in the world have something to say and it may be worth listening to. No one is perfect, and everyone make wrong choices, so there is no point of favoring certain groups or pet theories.
Janet is my favorite cousin. She works for Christian Light Publication at home, so for this she got email. It is really nice to have some more of my kin to keep in touch with. That way, I can find out more about my cousins and so forth. She don't always answer my emails, but she enjoy reading my emails.
Jean is a friend I met long time ago, while on Writer's Workshop by Email. She knows some people I know like Joseph Druist and other people. I kind of miss those good days, but I didn't have enough commitment to stick at writing. I talked about it, but I never got around to it. Well, to be honest, I don't recall meeting Jean in person; it is all by emails over years. We got out of touch at times, but somehow we always got back together.
Jeffery is a new guy at work. In place of bums that I have worked with in past at Keystone Koating #1, he is "aggressive" worker. He is a willing servant to get things done on our command. He attends Living Hope Christian Fellowship, the church I probably would consider attending had I been hearing. They don't have interpreters readily available so, I don't always go there as I wish. I decided to include him on my e-newsletter list, because it is not easy to understand him by lip-reading. He seems to talk nervously, hence I have hard time understanding him. But because he is part of Charity people, I knew we do have kinship somewhere.
Joel is my, I would say, my favorite deaf friend I have had for years. I like Jason Burkholder too, but we got out of touch since he got married. I enjoy writing letters with Jason when we were teenagers, but when we got older, our schedule got busier and we don't really keep in touch as I would have liked. Jason, Joel, and I are all alike in comprehension in life in general and we can talk to each other in our level and we shared the same feelings as we all are deaf. Unfortunately, it seems like I am the only one that are still trying to keep in touch....
Julia is my older sister. My family should know what's up with me, and it was only through her that I would be able to keep in touch with my parents, since I cut off MyFax.
Lewis used to be the pastor at First Deaf Church. I think he saw the potential in me, and want the best for me. We have some differences, but I intend to solve that now by including him in my e-newsletter list and doing other things that he ask me to do.
Lisa is my friend that I had for more than a year. Two years, I think. We hit off at first, thinking of possibility of marriage, but at the end, I saw there are too much difference between us. Thankfully we still are friends to this day, even though we are so much different (in my eye).
Maynard is my kindred spirit from Canada. He, like me, used to be part of plain Mennonite church, but we went searching for something better. Today, I found it, thankfully. He enjoy reading my spiritual discussion and would respond whatever catch his fancy.
Susan is my younger sister. We are closer in age, and we have done a lot together throughout our lives. She just recently got an email, and I am so glad to have one more sister into email thing. I love email and keeping in touch...no need to hassle about getting stamps and writing to tire your hands out--even if it means old-fashioned way have deeper meaning...
Now you all know who I send out e-newsletter from now on. I used to have just 15 something, but no one respond back, so I went back to 6 who do respond back. Now I grow back to 12, and I have some suspect that it would get fewer later on, unless I meet some new people.
Most of you do know each other.
I don't recall when was that last time I wrote and what did I write about, except the fact about our Christian duty.
The first weekend of September finds me at the cabin in the mountains with other deaf people. Julia was there and I sometimes wish Susan would be there too. But she is too far away, and I did think Janet should come, but she is "shy". Plus, I did feel that Julia seem left out at the mountains, because I am too busy with my other friends. Maybe I should broaden out more...
It was fabulous weekend. Rodney and Gwen are there; that's why I wish Susan and Janet would be here. Maybe Janet don't know Gwen that well, but Susan sure would. Some of us even went to Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. I wish we would have taken Julia along, and I know Janet and Susan would enjoy that park as well. It isn't that far away.
What is especially striking is it is a foggy morning. Kind of romantic moment for me. Of course, I do wish I have that fine damsel at my side, but she is hiding somewhere.
I was really ready for work on following Monday morning. Sometimes too much ado over weekend can leave one exhausted. I do enjoy the mountains, but I don't like the long drive to get there. 2 and half hours drive should be worth one week's stay....
Maybe I should say the same about the Penn Valley. But there is something that Penn Valley have that cabin don't have. We don't have to worry about food and who is responsible for what. All we just go there to sleep, eat, relax, and listen. The Cabin? Well, we have to hassle about bicycles, deer-spotting, camping equipments, and cooking...
I did think it would be nice if we could have a family reunion in that cabin. Maybe we can have a single cousin reunion or something. It would be fun!
I should get that scrapbook page done for my Grandmother. She is going to be 90 years old this Saturday and we are having a family reunion/birthday party for her. I am kind of looking forward to it.
This week, I have a whole week off from work. They are having renovations at work, so there are no powder-coating work to be done. I could work at KK#2, but I didn't want to. Instead, I ask for a whole week, paid vacation. I hope I would get my book written this week, as well as get serious about my business.
